Someshwara beach on the south of the town, Nakshatra beach and Byndoor beach on the north, and the Kollur river estuary just south all offer distinct waterfront profiles. Ottinene Beach, one of Karnataka’s cleanest, sits just south of Byndoor. This geographical variety within a small area is one of Byndoor’s under-appreciated attractions.
Byndoor beachfront is classified CRZ-III (Rural Areas) — the same classification as Kundapur and Marvante. The 200-metre No Development Zone from HTL applies; construction is permitted beyond 200m from HTL with local planning authority approval.
